Oops - missed this one. Not sure how as it was the song we got the most feedback about! Anyhow, the kids walked down to this one before Hil walked down. From one of our favorite movies – True Romance. Suffice it to say, it was a hit!

Well, maybe we got a little cheesy here, but I love this Billy Joel song. And it couldn’t describe Hil any better. Hence, her walking down the aisle to this classic gem.

After a brief delay, and one of the worst travel experiences of my life, I’m back with wedding song #4. Hil’s family walked down to this powerful song from Little Miss Sunshine.

Bon Iver, Towers

Wedding Song #3

I walked down the aisle to this song. Perhaps the most emotive of the always emotional Bon Iver songs, and one of two bands that permeated Hil and my relationship from the very beginning. The other was LCD Soundsystem, which came later in the night but is not quite processional music :)

Vitamin String Quartet, Reckoner (Radiohead cover)

Wedding Song #2

My family walked down to aisle this song, perhaps my favorite Radiohead song of all time. We chose this acoustic version by the Vitamin String Quartet because it had all the greatness of the original score, but using the strings in lieu of the vocals added a certain ethereal quality that we just loved for the wedding.

I got married on 10.20.12 in Manchester, Vermont.

It was the best day of my life.

Hil and I agonized over the music selection for our processional and first dance.

In the end, it couldn’t have worked out any better.

I’m going to post the 10 songs we used over the next 10 days.

Hopefully it’ll provide an optimistic soundtrack to what we’re all anticipating will be a better week than last.
